Richard Goebel
Field Worker for Africa
Bro. Goebel grew up in a religious home. Having spent every Sunday in church, he thought that religion was all there was to God. As a freshman in college he was challenged with the question, "do you actually know the God who you claim is your heavenly father?". The answer to that question began a search to see if the God of the scriptures could actually be known, felt and touched.
He was wonderfully saved by the blood of Jesus that year. The reality of actually meeting Christ and knowing Him, brought about radical changes in his life; which were immediately witnessed by all who knew him.
Within a few years God called him to be part of an Endtime Ministry in Philadelphia, Pa. where he has labored for 25 years. He has supported missionaries all over the world including India, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Ethiopia as well as supporting the School of Christ.
He first came to know of B H Clendennen in 1987 when a friend gave him the "Attributes of a Disciple" series. This lead him to call Bro. Clendennen on the phone. He continued to follow and support Bro. Clendennen's ministry efforts from that time on.
Bro. Goebel first traveled to Ethiopia for the School of Christ in February of 2008 and has continued to see God move in Ethiopia. Plans are being made to reach out from Ethiopia into the surrounding counties of Somalia, Djibouti, Sudan, and Eritrea. The first SOC for Somalia was held in Ethiopia in May of 2010 where brethren were trained and sent back to this totally Muslim country. Bro. Goebel continues to assist in the overseeing of Ethiopia and the surrounding region.
Bro. Goebel continues to live in Pennsylvania along with his wonderful wife Elba and their three children Jeremy, Justin and Zoe.
