Update from the SOC Alabama Prison Ministry
"The spirit of the Lord God is upon me because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek. He hath sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to them that are bound."
— Isaiah 61:1
This past year the School of Christ has been placed in many prisons of Alabama. In some prisons we have 2 schools. The results have always been the same. In many cases, men who have though that they were saved, break down and truly get right with God.
In St. Clair prison we have a school in the honor Dorm. Most of these men are doing life without parole. But I promise you I have never been around men that are any freer than these true saints Of God. It is a great pleasure to be one with them through the truth.
Our desire and vision this past year has been to be in every prison in Alabama and then to move into other States. Right now we are in every maximum security prison bar one. Last week, January 6th, we got permission to put the School in William Donaldson Prison in Bessemer Alabama and in West Jefferson Prison, 100 miles North West of Montgomery. This prison has 2000 men and includes a death row. For 2 years I have been knocking at this door. Praise the Lord it is now open.
On the 8th of January I met with the Chaplain at Holman prison 110 miles south of Montgomery. Holman is the toughest prison in Alabama with 164 men on death row and 100 more doing life without parole. Praise God He gave us great favor (For He is not willing that any should perish). Chaplain Somers responded to us in am great way after I had presented the teachings of Brother Clendennen. Firstly He opened Death row to us and then he opened up the honor dorm (170 men serving life without parole). Then he also opened up the general population of the prison. Yes 3 schools in the worst prison in Alabama.
Praise the Lord. Tomorrow is January 13th. I will meet with the Chaplin at Fountain Correctional facility which is maximum security and only one mile away from Holman. We now have only four prisons still to open to us and we will be in every major prison in the State at least once a week! This is a great Gospel. We do have the answer to everything
