The School of Christ has been a great tool teaching the native missionary to reach out into his own
country with a message of life and hope through the Lord Jesus Christ. But there is a mission field
that few think of, that few want to think of, that is the men and women in our nations prison
system.
The School of Christ has heard the compassionate cry of our Lord when He said, "...I was a
stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited
me not.." (Matthew 25:43) It is a matter near to the heart of God, and we would do well to
make it a matter of our own heart.
The scripture says, "Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were
bidden were not worthy. Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the
marriage. So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they
found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests." (Matthew 22:8-10)
The School of Christ, under the direction of Jack LeDoux, has gone forth into the highways of
Beaumont to reach, "both the bad and good." We are currently in the Federal
Corrections Complex which consists of four branches, the U.S. Penitentiary, the Medium Security Unit,
the Low Security Unit, and the Camp Unit. We are also in the State LaBlanc Unit. Each unit runs the
school year round, this being our sixth year.
Brother LeDoux said, "We have a great team of godly men who give of their own time every month to
reach out and share the message of love, hope and eternal life through the forgiveness of sins. The
field of prison ministry is ripe for the harvest."
Here is a letter of thanks from one of our students. "We just wanted to say thank you for sending
us the School of Christ series. We love you all and we ask you all to continue to pray for us that God
will use us for His glory in Jesus name Amen!"
This is a prayer request from one of our students, "Oh, that Apostolic results will explode to
Biblical degrees! That prison doors will open, both in the hearts of men and the prisoners of hope.
That God's men (and women) be strengthened in the ministry. That boldness be given to all of His
anointed. Amen."
God has a harvest field ready on your highways... and in your prisons. "So those servants went
out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and
good."
